Our policies, in plain language

Terms of service

  • This app books private-pay, non-emergency rides with Independent Ride Services LLC of Buffalo, NY.
  • You must be 18 or older to book, or a family member booking for a rider in your care.
  • Give correct pickup and drop-off addresses and be ready at the agreed pickup time.
  • Rides are non-emergency only. In an emergency, call 911.
  • Drivers may refuse or end a ride if a rider's behavior is unsafe.
  • We may update these terms; the version in this app is the current one.

Privacy policy

  • We collect what the app needs to work: your phone number, saved places, family riders you add, and your trip details.
  • Your data is stored securely with our providers (Firebase/Google and Stripe) and is never sold.
  • Drivers see only what they need for your ride: pickup, drop-off, and your first name.
  • We text you only about your rides and your account. No marketing texts unless you ask for them.
  • You can ask us to delete your account and data anytime: call (716) 333-7433 or email cs@independentride.com.

Cancellation & refund policy

  • Cancel free of charge any time up to 2 hours before a scheduled pickup, and right-now rides up to 10 minutes after booking.
  • Late cancellations may be charged up to the full estimated fare if a driver was already dispatched.
  • If we cancel your ride or no driver is available, you are refunded in full automatically.
  • Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
  • To cancel, call (716) 333-7433 — we will confirm the cancellation by text.

Payment policy

  • All rides in this app are private-pay. We accept major credit and debit cards.
  • You see an estimated fare before you pay. The final fare is confirmed by dispatch and never exceeds the estimate without your agreement.
  • Your card is charged when you confirm the booking. No charge is made before you agree.
  • Card details are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Cash rides are available only when arranged in advance by phone at (716) 333-7433.
  • This app does not bill Medicaid. Medicaid rides are booked through MAS at 1-800-651-7040.
